How To Apply For Medicaid
Applying for Medicaid is a fairly simple process and we outline the main steps for you. Every state has a separate Medicaid application process, but the basics are essentially the same.
1). The first thing you will need to do is locate the Social Security office that is closest to you.
2). You will need to go to your local Social Security office and let the employees know that you want to apply for Medicaid. Remember that you should try to get your Social Security Office as early as you can. Depending on the city that you live in, it might take several hours to meet with a case worker. You will need to make sure that you have your Social Security Card, and State Drivers License or State ID.
3). Make sure you complete the Medicaid application correctly and turn the application into the case worker.
4). Once you turn in your completed application, you will meet with a case worker to review your application to determine your financial situation in order to determine your Medicaid eligibility.
5). If you can not make it to the Social Security office yourself, check with your state to see if a family member can apply for you.
6). For more information on applying for Medicaid feel free to visit more Medicaid links.
